$4 Bathroom Wall Art

We’re in the process of renovating our bathroom. I googled like crazy, looking for a fun, new color scheme I hadn’t used before and settled on grey and yellow. The bathroom in our last apartment (actually the entire apartment) was turquoise and chocolate, which was super cute, but by the time we moved to our current home, all the towels and decorative accents were pretty tired looking.

And we got busy. Because life with a toddler and a teen moves at light speed.

So our bathroom, which was in AWFUL condition by the way, just sat there, all sad and ugly.

Then, one day, I was in our sad, ugly bathroom, and I couldn’t get out. THE DOOR WOULDN’T OPEN! It was warped and the frame had a crack, and somehow the handle and the frame weren’t where they should be, so I was trapped! And worst of all, Darling Baby was on the other side of the door! Luckily, Darling Teen was home to break the door down and save me, but it was so scary!

So thus began our slow, but dramatic renovation of the bathroom. First we replaced the door with a fancy new door. Then we got permission from our landlord to replace the linoleum with tile. And we just couldn’t bear to put the rotted wood vanity back, so we installed a pedestal sink. And guess what? We took no “before” pictures. We are the worst at remembering to do that.

We painted the walls a sunshiny yellow color, and put up new hardware from Costco. It’s not quite done yet though, I’ll post pictures of the whole thing once it is.

I really wanted some art to put over the towel rack, but once I started looking it was all so expensive! We’re operating on a shoestring budget here! So I googled “Free Grey and Yellow Art Download”, and lo and behold, there is some really cute, free stuff out there! I printed these two out on regular printer paper and framed them in $2 Ikea frames.

Boom. $4 Bathroom art.
