 Teeccino Sampler Giveaway

If you’re a regular reader, you know that last month I decided to do a Whole 30. I ended up losing quite a bit of weight (16 lbs to date) and feeling better than I have in a long time. I was so happy with the results in fact, I decided to continue my Whole 30 at least until the end of the year. If you’d like to join my Whole 30 Facebook Group, it’s still open and we’d love to have you.

This month I’ve decided to add a “Coffee Vacation” component to my Whole 30 diet. Part of the reason I opted to change my diet so drastically, (cutting out all grains, legumes, dairy, sugars and alcohol) was that I’ve been suffering from pretty severe adrenal fatigue. While I love my daily coffee(s), all the information I read about Adrenal Fatigue tells me that I probably won’t get better unless I cut it out completely. At least until my adrenals are in better shape.

I really really really like coffee though.

I started to look for a coffee replacement, and synergistically found an opportunity to sample Teeccino’s line of herbal coffee substitutes, as well as host a giveaway for them. (Scroll down to enter.) I took that as a sign from the Universe that this was indeed the right time to take a vacation from coffee.

My VIP Sampler was waiting for me when I arrived at my new house in Washington State. I knew I couldn’t finish packing for my move from San Diego to Washington without caffeine, so I decided to start after I relocated. There were several “Tee” bags, two packages of their herbal coffee for using in a coffee maker and two packages of their “TeeChia” cereal, (gluten free and very tasty) along with literature about the products.

There were two varieties, some with barley (lab tested to be gluten free) and some were dandelion root based, so grain free and appropriate for a Whole 30 diet. Teeccino herbal coffees have inulin which is a prebiotic, and are non-acidic, so they’re a great coffee alternative for people with gastrointestinal issues or who are trying to improve their gut health.

As I didn’t have my coffee maker yet, I tried the single serve “Tee” bags first. There were  flavored varieties like Caramel Nut, as well as plain Dark Roast. I enjoyed all the flavors and found them to be a completely acceptable coffee replacement in the flavor department, as well as having similar body and depth as coffee. The packets of herbal coffee designed for use in a coffee maker brew exactly like coffee. The French Roast tasted so much like coffee to me that I had to double check to make sure I hadn’t pulled the wrong package out of my cupboard! It was also excellent iced.

I found that while I did have some headaches as a result of quitting coffee altogether and not weaning myself off, my energy levels were consistent and I didn’t experience lethargy or crashes. The Teeccino website says that its product gives you energy from “nutrients and not stimulants”.

Now I’d like to offer one of my readers the same VIP Sampler Teeccino sent me. To enter, simply go ‘like’ Teeccino’s Facebook page, follow them on Twitter and do the same for The Darling Bakers. Check off your entries with the Rafflecopter widget below.

Good luck!

  1. Karen Wood says:

I would love to try these and see if they can tear me away from coffee. I drink too much because I love it and haven’t found anything to tear me away and I might have an adrenal problem!

  2. When I went through a similar (elimination diet) program, I had been recommended Teecino (GF Dandelion roast). It is amazing. It is a great alternative to coffee. I didn’t know that they had cereal too!
    Thanks for the giveaway!
